Kevin Almeroth is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California in Santa Barbara where his main research interests include computer networks and protocols, wireless networking, multicast communication, large-scale multimedia systems, and mobile applications. At UCSB, he is the  Associate Director of the Center for Information Technology and Society (CITS), a founding faculty member of the Media Arts and Technology (MAT) Program, Technology Management Program (TMP), and the Computer Engineering (CE) Program.  His interests in  social computing derive from the evolution in the Internet, how it is used, and the utility of reputations in evaluating credibility.
